Botox and Dysport Injection with Dr. Parvin Shafa

Botox and Dysport Injections

We are proud to present our two special products:  Botox Cosmetic and Dysport used by Dr. Parvin Shafa, dermatologist at OC MedDerm in Irvine, Orange County CA. Both products are purified proteins called BTX-A (botulinum toxin type A) that are injected exactly the same way directly into the muscles beneath the skin on the forehead and around the eyes.

The results temporarily relax the injected muscles with less or no muscle movement for 3 months (6 weeks to 6 months in our personal experience). Botox and Dysport work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, thereby reducing the muscle activity that is responsible for the formation of frown lines between the brows, crow's feet around the eyes and horizontal lines on the forehead. Botox is now used for treating migraines as well.

Type of facial lines and wrinkles

Dynamic lines are created when the muscles under the skin of the face, such as those in the forehead or around the eyes, contract and cause your skin to fold and develop frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, or crow's feet lines. These type of lines can be reduced and later even eliminated by Botox and Dysport injections.Static lines are lines that exist even when your muscles are at rest. These lines are the result of aging and  repetitive movement of the underlying facial muscles over the years, as well as the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin. These types of lines can be improved with Botox and Dysport injections. However, they may need to be additionally treated with fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane for optimal correction.

Are there any Safety concerns with Botox treatment?
